Kenya's money information, made clearer.
Amka is an independent Kenyan money comparison and financial education platform. We bring rates, source-linked data, planning tools and explainers into one calm place so people can learn, compare and decide more clearly.
Why Amka exists
Useful money information in Kenya is scattered. Treasury Bill results come from the Central Bank, fund yields sit across provider pages, SACCO payouts are often annual, bank-rate snapshots update on their own schedules, while tax and pension information lives elsewhere.
That fragmentation makes simple questions unnecessarily difficult: What is current? What is only a reference snapshot? What does the percentage actually mean? Amka exists to organise those questions around visible sources, dates and plain-language explanations.
What Amka does
Money data
Published rates and reference snapshots across savings, borrowing and investment categories.
Money explainers
Original articles that put Kenyan market numbers into useful context.
AMKA Plan
A monthly budgeting tool for organising income, commitments, savings and actual spending.
Freedom Plan
An illustrative calculator that lets you test how assumptions affect a long-term target.
What we will never do
Amka does not recommend products, rank by opinion or promise returns. We do not take payment to move a product up a comparison table. “Highest” and “lowest” describe the published snapshot being shown, not suitability.
Amka is not licensed to give personalised investment advice and does not hold or handle user money. Our job is to make the underlying information easier to inspect and understand.
Who is behind it
Amka is an independent Kenyan project built with an audit-and-controls mindset: verify the source, date the evidence, distinguish current data from older reference snapshots, flag uncertainty and correct mistakes openly.
It has no affiliation with any employer, fund manager, SACCO, bank or institution whose data appears on the site. Questions, corrections or partnership ideas can be sent to hello.amka.kenya@gmail.com.
Where the numbers come from
Amka prioritises primary and official sources such as the Central Bank of Kenya, KNBS, CMA, RBA, KRA, Kenya Law, NSE, SASRA and licensed providers. When a comparison relies on an older verified snapshot, the date should remain visible rather than being presented as live.
