AMKA is an independent Kenyan personal-finance education and comparison platform. Our goal is to make published financial information easier to understand and compare without presenting educational content as personalised financial advice.
Primary sources first
For changing financial figures and rules, AMKA prioritises official regulators, government publications, issuers and product providers. Examples include the Capital Markets Authority, Central Bank of Kenya, Kenya Revenue Authority, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Retirement Benefits Authority, Nairobi Securities Exchange, Kenya Law and the relevant licensed provider or fund manager.
How we verify numbers
Rates, yields, minimum investments, fees and product terms should carry a source and an as-at or publication date where available. We do not invent figures to fill gaps. When reliable current information is unavailable, we prefer to say so.
Comparisons are not recommendations
Tables may be sorted mechanically, for example by a published rate. Position in a table is not an endorsement. Readers should consider risk, liquidity, fees, minimums, tax treatment and product terms rather than a headline return alone.
Review and updates
Time-sensitive pages are reviewed when new primary-source information becomes available. Material changes should update the visible date, source and affected explanation. Older articles may be refreshed, corrected or clearly retained as historical context.
Corrections
When credible evidence shows that AMKA has published an error, we review the underlying source and correct the page. Readers and providers can report issues through Talk to AMKA. See our Corrections Policy.
Commercial independence
Commercial relationships, if introduced, must be disclosed and must not determine the editorial conclusion or mechanical ordering of comparison tables. Sponsored material should be distinguishable from independent editorial content.
Authorship and review
Articles should identify the responsible AMKA editorial author or team, the publication or review date, and the key sources used. Financial claims that can change should be checked against current primary sources before publication.
Technology and editorial responsibility
AMKA may use software and AI-assisted tools to support research, drafting, data processing or presentation. Published financial claims remain subject to AMKA's source-verification and editorial review standards; automated output is not treated as a source.
For more detail on source hierarchy and data handling, read AMKA Methodology.
