What a special fund is
Special funds are collective investment schemes approved by the Capital Markets Authority to run strategies outside the standard categories — multi-asset, derivatives, private debt, offshore assets and absolute-return mandates. Returns can be higher and fees are often higher too, and these funds carry risks that a money market fund does not. Read the offering document in full.
How to invest
Access is direct with the fund manager, and some funds have higher minimums or restricted eligibility. Confirm the fund's registration at cma.or.ke and read the fee schedule and the risk section of the offering document before committing.
